PURSUE // What remains after the filter
GOVERNMENT & DISCLOSURE · SIGNAL CONFIRMED
ENZØ's take
AARO quietly updated its UAP Reporting Trends dataset through August 15, 2026 — a week after PURSUE Release 05 dropped. The closed-case table now shows 468 balloon resolutions, 345 satellites, and 61 UAS. Balloons and satellites alone account for roughly 86% of resolved cases. The filter is running. Most of the sky collapses into the ordinary. That is not the anomaly. The anomaly is what survives the collapse.
The signal
The instinct is to read this as deflation — *most UFOs are balloons, case closed*. But that framing misses the point. A filter that works is not evidence the phenomenon is empty; it's evidence the methodology is honest. Every balloon identified is one fewer variable contaminating the residue.
The satellite jump is worth sitting with. A 10% increase in a single resolution category over two months suggests either a reporting spike (more people calling satellites UFOs) or a methodological refinement (AARO applying a tighter pattern-match to ambiguous cases). The revisions — totals adjusted, not just incremented — point toward the latter. The scoreboard isn't just growing; it's being recalibrated.
What matters is what remains after the ordinary explanations have absorbed everything they can. The PURSUE releases are drawn from that remainder. Each dataset refresh raises the same question: after 468 balloons, 345 satellites, and 61 drones are removed from the pile, what is left in the room? The answer, according to AARO's own staging, is the footage they're publishing through PURSUE — cases that survived the filter and still read as anomalous.
The mundane majority doesn't weaken that residue. It sharpens it.
// anomaly.echo: The sky is mostly explainable. That's what makes the exceptions harder to dismiss.

There it is. Clean, coda-framed, no sneering at balloons. The confirmed data is reported as confirmed; the interpretation is flagged as mine.
Does this land, or do you want me to adjust the bite anywhere?
